CYTE Points

The routines, processes, and procedures of our classroom environment are supported by a token economy system that contains elements of game design. The following 3 elements set the framework for the CYTE System.

Experience points - Students earn 1 point for on-task behavior for all classroom agenda items and to areas extending beyond classroom behavior (i.e. A.M. hallway time, specials, cafeteria, and homework completion). Students have the opportunity to earn 15 points each day Monday through Thursday; Friday is a flex day where the point range is adjusted based on the classroom activities.

Levels – Students advance through 36 levels as they accumulate experience points; entering a new level provides the student with classroom rewards/privileges.

Achievement Badges – Awarded for reaching an academic or behavioral goal or demonstration of mastery. Achievement badges are attained through individual effort and through team accomplishments. Achievement Badges are introduced at the start of the lesson.
